Privacy Policy
Family Trail (the “app”) is a mobile app for iOS and Android, published by Cooba Dev (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app handles and what we do — and don’t do — with it.
Short version
- Family Trail is local-first. Your children, items, photos and notes are stored on your device only.
- We don’t run any servers that hold your content. We can’t see it.
- We don’t use analytics, advertising SDKs, or trackers.
- The only off-device data is anonymous purchase information, sent to Apple/Google and to our payments processor (RevenueCat) when you buy the lifetime unlock.
1. Information stored on your device
Everything you enter — children’s names and colour tags, items, due dates, notes, and any photos you attach or capture with the in-app scanner — is saved in the app’s local storage on your phone or tablet. It never leaves the device unless you choose to share it (e.g. by exporting a photo to another app via the iOS / Android share sheet).
2. Camera and photo library
The app asks for camera and photo library permission so you can attach a picture to an item (typically a school form or note). The chosen image is stored only inside the app on your device. We don’t upload it.
3. Local notifications
If you enable a reminder on an item, the app schedules a local notification on your device using the operating system’s notification service. The reminder content stays on your device — it isn’t sent through any server we control.
4. In-app purchases
The lifetime “Family Trail Premium” unlock is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store), and entitlement is verified through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider.
During a purchase or restore, RevenueCat may receive an anonymous identifier generated for your install, your purchase receipt, the product identifier, and basic device information (operating system, app version, country). RevenueCat acts as our data processor under their privacy policy. We do not receive your name, email address, Apple ID, or Google account from this flow.
5. Third-party services we use
- Apple App Store / Google Play — handles the actual payment.
- RevenueCat — verifies and restores purchase entitlement.
We don’t use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, advertising SDKs, crash reporters, or any other third-party tracking.
6. Children
The app is designed for parents to organise information about their own children. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. The names you enter for children are stored only on your device.
7. Your rights
Because we don’t store your content, you control it directly. You can delete any item, child, or attached photo from inside the app at any time, or uninstall the app to remove everything from your device. If you have bought the lifetime unlock and want to delete your RevenueCat anonymous identifier, email us at the address below and we will arrange it.
8. Security
Local data is held in the operating system’s standard app storage, which is sandboxed and protected by your device passcode/biometrics. Data sent to RevenueCat and the app stores during a purchase is transmitted over HTTPS.
9. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how the app handles data we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
